Successful participation in the Dominios.es Registration Committee

The Enredadera Room in the Bronze Building, Red.es headquarters in Madrid, was the venue chosen to hold a new edition of the Dominios.es Registration Committee. The event brought together representatives of the more than 100 companies accredited for marketing ".es", the Internet country code assigned to Spain and managed by Red.es, a public entity under the Ministry for Digital Transformation and Public Service, which has been entrusted with these competences in collaboration with a network of Accredited Registrars offering ".es" domains to individuals and companies along with other value-added services. 

 



 

The event started with a welcome from Red.es Domains, Systems and Digital Kit Director, Víctor Rodrigo Raya, who took stock of activities in recent years, as well as the challenges facing ".es" management. Then it was the turn of Ministry of the Interior representative Francisco José Jara González to explain the process of "Digital Transformation in the National Police". The third presentation on the "Cybersecurity Coordination and Governance Law" and the transposition of European NIS2 directive in Spain was given by the director of the Cybersecurity for Digital Transformation Division of the State Secretariat for Telecommunications and Digital Infrastructures (SETELECO), Javier Augusto Gil-Ruiz.  

After the coffee break, Leanne Kenny, Manager for EMEA at MarkMonitorthe US company operating as Accredited Registrar for Dominios.es, shared her experience with regard to the concept of "DNS Abuse" with the audience. The next presentation on "Domains, gambling and betting" was given by Deputy Director General for Gambling Inspection, Cecilia Pastor Pons, which is part of the Directorate General for the Regulation of Gambling of the Ministry of Social Rights, Consumption and Agenda 2030. The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food was represented by technical adviser to the General Secretariat for Food Quality Control and Agri-Food Laboratories, Mónica de Santos Carretero, who reported on the implications between ".es" and the online protection of differentiated quality foods such as Protected Designations of Origin (PDO), Protected Geographical Indications (PGI) and Traditional Specialities Guaranteed (TSG).

Francisco Fernández Fierro from the National Cybersecurity Institute (INCIBE-CERT), reported on the joint collaboration with Dominios.es. Finally, this new edition of the Dominios.es Registration Committee was rounded off with a presentation entitled "Collaborative Projects in the LACTLD Community: Case of the Unified Domain Search Engine for Latin America and the Caribbean" presented by its General Manager Rocío de la Fuente.
